“I don’t really think CM Punk has the right to complain about his position in the company. For Pete’s sake, in the same YEAR he was lucky enough to face The Rock and The Undertaker. Not to mention he had the longest reigning championship in modern history!”
First, Punk has been fighting with the WWE since day one because he was never seen in their eyes as a champion or even a worthy contender of any of their champions (Batista, HHH, Randy, Cena, etc. were all champions when Punk started) Seems like they thought ECW was a perfect fit and after they destroyed ECW it was kinda like “Well now what can we do with him?” so they pushed him aside as much as he would allow it and gave him useless title reigns just to try to satiate him from complaining about the fact that he was actually being screwed pretty bad. (I mean honestly they made the WHC mean absolutely nothing when Punk held it and that was wrong). Punk has always had some of the best matches and they would never acknowledge it. Now that Punk is getting a small piece of the respect and adoration that he has deserved for years people want to complain about him complaining? Sit the fuck down.
Second, let’s remember that he did fight the Undertaker and he was the longest reigning WWE champion of the modern era and now? He was getting beat up 24/7 by the Shield for months before he walked out for no damn reason because they took too long to actually formally start the HHH feud he was supposed to have at Wrestlemania.
Third, let’s talk about that Rock match. Im sure Rock was pleased to put Punk over and everything, but the Cena/Rock match had the most unnecessary advertising and build up (a whole fucking year) and it was good and all, but the Punk/Rock feud and match imo was better and had no build up and to make matters worse, they overshadowed their great match by announcing that Cena and Rock would have ANOTHER DUMBASS MATCH.
Fourth, That epic “Pipe Bomb” that he did only came because his contract was up and they saw that he was done with their shit and they realized that hey he is one of our main eventers and people like him so we cant just have him leave the company let’s give him a reason to stay. A shitty reason to stay, but I think Punk saw better of it but like he said he basically forced the WWE’s hand just to be able to do that.
Point is, they throw Punk a bone only for him to realize that it’s attached to an invisible string. One great match or championship reign doesn’t make up for a year of mistreatment and Punk knows that. Punk already said he left because he was tired because yes he is overworked and underappreciated, but I know he doesnt get along with creative and the “Authority” because their true champion is someone that looks like or is friends with HHH and that’s not right.
